GTA 5 Weapons

Little is known about what weapons we can expect to be in GTA V, although trailers and screenshots have provided some insight, showcasing several traditional GTA weapons along with some new ones.
One of the most exciting discoveries is the apparent implementation of weapon customization. How this will work is still unknown and likely will be until the game is released. Glimpses from trailers and screenshots have shown weapons equipped with red-dot sights, flashlights, sound suppressors, and laser sights.
Below you will find what we have managed to gather from the various forms of information we've received so far. While we have listed the names of the weapons we believe these GTA V weapons to be pronominally based upon, these GTA V weapons likely take inspiration from many and not just a single one.

Melee Weapons

Baseball Bat

A GTA classic, first seen in GTA III and featured throughout the series since, baseball bats are returning once again.

Golf Club

Golf clubs were only previously seen in GTA Vice City and San Andreas. It has already been confirmed that there will be a golf mini-game in GTA V, but whether golf clubs can be used as a weapon also remains to be seen.

Mallet

Hammers were only previously seen in GTA Vice City. Whether this mallet can be used a weapon remains to be seen.

Tennis Racket

Tennis rackets are a new addition to GTA. Like golf, it has already been confirmed that there will be a tennis mini-game in GTA V, but whether the tennis racket can be used as a weapon though remains to be seen.

Baton

Seen throughout the GTA Series, the baton is once again making a return being used by Los Santos finest to contain those criminals who get out of hand.

Pistols

Beretta 92SB-F

This pistol is based upon the Beretta 92SB-F which is a semi-automatic pistol chambered for the 9x19mm round. This pistol, designated as the M9, is currently the standard issue pistol for the United States military.

Colt M1911

This pistol is based upon the Colt M1911 which is semi-automatic pistol chambered for the 11.43x23mm (.45 ACP) round. The M1911 was the standard issue pistol for the United States military from 1911 to 1985. While it clear that the pistol is based upon the M1911, it is not clear if the pistol is based on the original M1911 design, or the newer M1911A1 design.

Glock 18

This pistol is based upon the Glock 18 which is semi-automatic pistol chambered for the 9x19mm round. The Glock 18 is virtually identical to the Glock 17 except for the fact that the Glock 18 is capable of firing fully-automatic and the Glock 17 is not.

Unknown Pistol

The basis of this pistol is currently unknown, although it appears to be based upon either the Heckler & Koch Mark 23, Glock 20L, or Glock 17L. All three pistols are semi-automatic pistols with the H&K Mark 23 chambered for the 11.43x23mm (.45 ACP) round, the Glock 20L for the 10x25mm round, and the Glock 17L for the 9x19mm round.

Submachine Guns

IMI Mini-Uzi

This submachine gun is based upon the IMI Mini-Uzi which is a fully automatic submachine gun chambered for the 9x19mm round and capable of firing up to 600 rounds per minute. The Uzi was first introduced in GTA III and has been featured throughout the series since.

Heckler & Koch MP5A5

This submachine gun is based upon the Heckler & Koch MP5A5 which is a fully automatic submachine gun chambered for the 9x19mm round and capable of firing up to 800 rounds per minute. The MP5 was first introduced in GTA Vice City and has been featured throughout the series since.

Assault Rifles

Norinco Type 56 II

This assault rifle is based upon the Norinco Type 56 II which is a fully automatic assault rifle chambered for the 7.62x39mm round and capable of firing up to 600 rounds per minute. The Norinco Type 56 II is a Chinese clone of the AK-47. The AK-47 was first introduced in GTA III and has been featured throughout the series since.

AR-15

This assault rifle is based upon the AR-15 which is a fully automatic assault rifle chambered for the 5.56x45mm round and capable of firing up to 800 rounds per minute. This assault rifle, under the designation M16, and the modified version M4, are currently the standard issue assault rifles for the United States military. The AR-15 was first introduced in GTA III as the M16 and has been featured throughout the series since as the M4.

IMI Tavor TAR-21

This assault rifle is based upon the IMI Tavor TAR-21 which is a fully automatic assault rifle chambered for the 5.56x45mm round and capable of firing up to 900 rounds per minute. The IMI Tavor TAR-21 is currently the standard issue assualt rifle for the Israel Defense Forces. The IMI Tavor TAR-21 is a new addition to the GTA series having not been seen before.

Unknown Assault Rifle

The basis of this assault rifle is currently unknown, although it appears to be based upon either the Heckler & Koch HK416 or the Bushmaster Adaptive Combat Rifle. Both are full automatic assault rifles chambered for the 5.56x45mm round and capable of firing up to 900 rounds per minute. Regardless of which assault rifle it is, it will be a new addition to the GTA series having not been seen before.

Shotguns

Mossberg 590

This shotgun is predominantly based upon the Mossberg 590 which is a semi-automatic .12 gauge shotgun. The Mossberg 590 is virtually identical to the Mossberg 500 with the main difference being the internal workings. This weapon appears to be a mix of both with the front of the weapon taking inspiration from the Mossberg 590 and the rear stock taking inspiration from a Mossberg 500. Both the Mossberg 590 and 500 are commonly used by many law enforcement agencies throughout the world. Regardless of what model it is, this Mossberg shotgun will be a new addition to the GTA series having not been seen before.

Sniper Rifles

Heckler & Koch PSG1

This sniper rifle is based upon the Heckler & Koch PSG1 which is a semi-automatic sniper rifle chambered for the 7.62x39mm round. The PSG1 is one the most accurate sniper rifles currently available. For that reason. the PSG1 is the sniper rifle of choice for the FBI's Hostage Rescue Team and the United States military's elite special forces unit, Delta Force. The Heckler & Koch PSG1 was first introduced in GTA Vice City and has been featured throughout the series since.

Explosives

Molotov Cocktail

A GTA classic, first seen in GTA III and featured throughout the series since, Molotov Cocktails are returning once again.

Gasoline Canister

While previous GTA's have allowed the player to shot specific barrels to cause an explosion, players are now able to pick up gas canisters and place them where they like for some customizable explosions.

Grove Street Families are a diminishing gang in Los Santos, San Andreas. Everyday, their men get capped, the Ballas gain strength and Grove Street get weaker. Things have slowly gotten worse since Carl Johnson (Grove Street OG) left Los Santos for a new life in Liberty City five years ago. Sweet is Carl's older brother, and heads up the Grove Street gang. Sweet blames Carl for the death of their younger brother Brian who was involved in an unfortunate accident all those years ago. Lack of weaponary, poor health because of drugs, a rapidly decreasing rate of respect and betrayal--have all led to Grove Street's downfall. Grove Street OG's Big Smoke and Ryder, are trying to setup a new drug business with the Loco Syndicate. The Loco Syndicate is run by Mike Toreno, a shady CIA agent. This site is dedicated to Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, the fourth title in the Grand Theft Auto video game series. The game was released in 2002 by Rockstar Games, one year after its predecessor Grand Theft Auto III. The game was initially released for the PlayStation 2 platform, and later released for the Xbox and PC.
